Woodrow J. Torgerson “Woodie”
Born October 1, 1931 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He passed away March 5, 2011 at his home in Backus, MN.
Survived by loving wife Verdienne of 58 years, Children; Steve (Char)Torgerson, Ron (Lori) Torgerson, Dean (Becky) Torgerson, LaRae (Gordy) Nelson, 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, Sister Tootie Jackson, mother in-law Edith Berg “Gma Tim” and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by daughter Terry Lynn Torgerson, parents Ordean and Goldie Torgerson, Brother Robert, infant sister Wanda, brother-in-laws Raymond Jackson and Duane Berg, sister-in-law Evelyn, nephews Bobby Torgerson and Randy Jackson.
Woodie was united in marriage to Verdienne (Berg) on June 28, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN. His passions in life were his family, Torgerson Well Company, four-wheeling, fishing and friends. He became a Mason in 1967 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rockford, MN for many years. Member of the Zuhrah Shrine and also served in the US Army from 1952-1954.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday March 10, 2011 from 4pm-7pm at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, MN with a Masonic service at 6:30pm.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 am at Big Grove Church in Brooten-Belgrade, MN.
A Special Thank You to the Cass County Sheriff, Backus First Response Team, North Memorial Ambulance Team and Longville Lakes Clinic.
