William White “Bill” Knapp III, age 82, of Coon Rapids and formerly of Waverly passed away on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 at Health & Rehab of New Brighton. He was born on December 11, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of William W. Knapp Jr. & Eleanor Gillespie Knapp. He honorably served his Country in The United States Army during the Korean War. On December 20, 1952, William W. Knapp III and Ruth Kallman were joined in holy marriage at The 1st Covenant Church in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with four children. He was formerly employed with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation doing road construction work. He enjoyed motorcycles, oil painting, sail boating, fishing, his 1968 Mustang, family vacations. He was very active in many Church activities. Survived by wife: Ruth Knapp; three children: Dana Lawrence, Judy (Tim) Ernst and Janelle Hartness; twelve grandchildren & twelve great grandchildren; five nieces and four nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by a daughter Julie Benson, his parents William W. Knapp Jr. & Eleanor G. Knapp & by a brother Sanford. Funeral services for William W. Knapp III will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 A.M. at Albion Evangelical Free Church, rural Cokato. Pastor Russ Benson and Pastor Steve Fawcett-Pathway’s Community Church-Ramsey, Minnesota officiated. Linda Groos was the pianist for the funeral service. Interment with military rites by The Minnesota Army National Guard will follow at The Swedish Mission Cemetery in Buffalo. Bugler will be from Bugler’s Across America Rob Serverson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th one hour prior to services at the church.

Megan Clark and Kaelyn Benson.
