January 22, 1940 – August 27, 2023

 

William “Bill” August Wagner age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at The Glenn Memory Care in Buffalo, MN.

He was born on January 22, 1940 to August and Ruth (Bruska) Wagner on the family farm.

Bill was baptized on January 24, 1940.

He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 9, 1954.    His confirmation memory verse was Proverbs 23:26  “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways”.

He lived on the farm his entire life until his mother moved to an apartment.  He then moved to a small trailer house.

Bill went to the country school named Schmidt School (District 88).  He attended this school until the seventh grade.  He then stayed home to help his dad on the family farm.  Bill later worked in Delano at the BMI Door Company.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016, he was driving to his sister’s place to celebrate Thanksgiving and he was involved in a car accident.  After the accident, he moved to the Monticello Nursing Home and later moved to Lake Ridge Assisted Living.  In 2022, he was moved to The Glenn Memory Care.  Bill entered hospice care on April 4, 2023.

Survived by his sisters Cynthia (Franklin) Hohl and Diane (Donald) Munsterteiger all of Buffalo; nieces and nephews: Michele (Don) Czanstkowski; Jeff  Munsterteiger (fiancé Misi Stein), Chad Munsterteiger, Malinda Munsterteiger, Lisa (Keith) Pfeffer, Teresa (Steve) Frykholm, Terri (Brian) Kenmir and Brad Hohl; great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harris Wagner.

Funeral services for William “Bill” Wagner will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church – Pelican Lake.  Reverend Christopher Oehlke will officiate.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to services AT THE CHURCH on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023.  Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jeff Munsterteiger, Chad Munsterteiger, Donald Czanstkowski, Brad Hohl, Brian Kenmir and Steve Frykholm.

The family would like to extend a thank you to The Glenn Memory Care and Brighton Hospice for their excellent care of Bill.  Also thank you to Reverend Oehlke for his prayers and visits.
