With great sadness, the Royston family announces the death of Wayne Everette Royston. Wayne was born July 19, 1929 to Claude and Olieta Royston in Santa Rosa, California. Wayne passed away on April 27, 2021 surrounded by his family in Buffalo, Minnesota.

He was joined in marriage on September 18, 1954 to Ann Patterson in Santa Rosa, California. Together they raised one child, Deb.

Wayne proudly served in the United States Army and spent time in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War.

Wayne had a zest for life that often commented on. He loved good food, rockhounding, and good television. He and Ann loved to travel around the United States. Wayne was a roofer in Santa Rosa for many years and then worked in landscaping and maintenance for the State of California Highway Department until he retired in 1994.

Wayne will be missed by his wife of 66 years, Ann; daughter, Deb Murray; grandsons, Alex (Angie) Murray and Ryan (Bess) Murray; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and brother, Leighton (Esther) Royston of Santa Rosa, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Olieta; older brother, Elwood; and son-in-law, Richard Murray.


A time of remembrance will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

    Ann, I feel your hurt tonite after so many wonderful years together with the man who held your heart. I will pray that every perfect memory you have brings you only Joy. If I could wish for dreams to come true, it would be that my Grandsons all find a Love so committed to one another as you and Wayne were. I know the hurt of missing your one love.
