Walter was my uncle, my mom’s last living brother. Unfortunately because of bad weather in ND we were unable to travel there for the funeral. We will visit this summer. Walter loved to visit and could engage in wonderful conversation with almost anyone around him. People appreciated his always asking about them and their families. I am lucky to have “Walter” as my middle name, named after him by my mother, Arlene Paulson Wetzel, now in a nursing home in New Rockford, ND.
Growing up in Buffalo, I always felt a part of the family. I have missed Merlin for many years now, and will miss Walter as well.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Walter. He was a great man. He will be missed. I am also sorry that I was not able to make it to the funeral.
I didn’t really know Walter. I might of met him a few times when I went to go see my grandma Arlene. I’m Tim’s daugther, I’m sorry I couldn’t make it. I didn’t know he had passed. I will always have you in my prayers & thoughts.
Sincerly, Michelle Fertner aka Wetzel
