September 11, 1936 – January 7, 2022

 

Virgil Gerald Tengwall, age 85, of Buffalo passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Park View Care Center.

He was born on September 11, 1936 in Pillsbury Township, Swift County, Minnesota the son of Arthur E. & Ruth (Roisum) Tengwall.

Virgil graduated from Kerkhoven High School. He participated in football and track.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army.

Virgil was employed for over forty-two years at Ford Motor Company in St. Paul.

He was a very hard worker and enjoyed helping others. When not working Virgil enjoyed making salsa, dancing, going to the lake and being with family.

Survived by his children: Patricia “Patti” Kuehne of Monticello and Michael “Mike” (Connie) Tengwall of Buffalo; six granddaughters: Jillian (Kent) Holthaus, Ashley (Tyler) Arrell and Hayley Kuehne; Patricia (Jess) Vraspir, Sarah Long (Willie Nelson) and Staci Simek (Sonny Michalicek); thirteen great grandchildren: Sophia, Alex, Aiden and Abby; Lauryn, Samantha, Chloe, Emery, Summit, Waylon, Elizabeth, Lily and Hannah; a sister: Lila Mae Lundberg; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Elroy, Delos and Earl Tengwall, a sister Marjorie “Marge” Shores and by his former wife Elizabeth “Liz” Tengwall.

A Celebration of Life for Virgil Tengwall will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo at 5:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, two hours prior to services at The Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Ave, Buffalo, Minnesota.

A dinner and fellowship will follow at Bison Creek Event Center (Huikko’s), 1207 MN 25, Buffalo, MN.

Inurnment will be held in the spring.

    You gained your wings Virgil and you are now home with the lord.
    You were a great neighbor to us for many years up on circle drive and we sure missed you after you moved. Your grass was like a carpet. 🙂 and your yard was the best in the neighborhood.
    God bless your family and may the good lord give you all peace and comfort. Virgil was a great man and lived his life to the fullest.

    It was an honor to know your dad the past two years. I enjoyed getting him to laugh and crack a smile as he was always such a serious person. He is resting peacefully now . My deepest sympathy to you Mike.
