January 2, 1963 – December 14, 2023

Vincent Steffens, loving father to John and Kate, husband of more than twenty years to Shannon, and dear friend to many, was called home on December 14, 2023. Vince touched the lives of everyone he knew with his kindness, generosity, and infectious smile.

Vince was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting pheasants, deer, and ducks. Although he didn’t like getting up early to hunt ducks, he loved the thrill of the chase. He was deeply involved in MN NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) and served on the board in various positions for nine years. He was passionate about hunting, training nights, working tests, and, of course, Fable Fest.

Before his career as a driver for US Foods, he worked in the dental industry for Quadent Studios and with Kelly’s Towing Services. No matter what his position, Vince was always willing to help the new guys learn the ropes. He was known for his patience and kindness and always had a warm smile for others. He was the guy who always had the right tools, and even though no one else could find them, he had them and was always willing to share. He was a great friend, the one you could call day or night to pull you out of a snowbank or lend a hand.

Vince loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed weekends at the lake with his family. Some of his favorite stories to tell were memories from his childhood of the lake and the antics he and his cousins would get up to!

Of all the things he did, Vince was most proud of being a Dad. He loved his children and was proud of their achievements. They were his everything! In addition to his wife and children, Vince is survived by his parents, Ray and Sally, his sister Julie, brother Chuck (Mary), sister Mary (Dave), brother Gary (Olga), ten nieces and nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him!

I remember well, Vince and I watching his son John and Joe Dolejsi fight over the last few pieces of fried Sunfish appetizers at the NAVHDA Fable Fest.

If Vince were still around he would be out hunting on such a fine December day. That’s where I will be in memory of Vince.

One of my favorite childhood memories was when Vince brought John and I to a pheasant’s forever event together. Thank you for the memories Vince! Shannon, John, and Kate I’m sorry for your loss.
