Vincent C. DeMars, 72, of Buffalo MN and Ft Myers Beach FL passed away July 2nd at North Memorial Hospital.
Vince was born August 21st, 1944 in Elk River MN to Gerald and Florence (Zachman) DeMars.
He spent his early years in the Rogers MN area, until the family moved near Montrose MN in 1952. Vince Graduated from St Mary’s Catholic High School, Waverly MN, in 1962. Regardless of where he lived or traveled after, Waverly was his home town.
Vince served in Vietnam with the US Army 1st Air Calvary from July 1966 to July 1967 leading daily observation flights for the safety and support of the infantry.
Shortly after his return home, he met Judy Scheuble, soon to be his wife. They would become inseparable and blessed to share 50 years together. They were wed in 1968 and had 2 children; son Christopher and daughter Nichole.
Vince was employed as a tool maker for local companies Van Dale, Graco and Hutchinson Technology Incorporated. Vince enjoyed his work, and often spent long hours and overtime to ensure his family had everything they needed. Later in his career he enjoyed going to work just to hear the ‘young guys’ stories.
He was an active man enjoying many activities including extensive travel, bicycling, hiking, reading, history, volleyball and other sports, motorcycling, and anything competitive. Travel often involved destinations of historic significance. On rare occasion, he would sit still long enough to watch a Twins or Gophers game.
While raising his family, Vince sacrificed personal luxuries. But later in life he would rekindle youthful interests such as riding motorcycle. He and Judy traveled widely across the US on their Harleys, on short runs or cross country tours, enjoying their adventures together or in the company of friends.
He enjoyed 7 years of retirement with summers in Minnesota where all his time and activities centered around Judy and his grandchildren. He loved his winters in Florida for the warm weather, time spent with Judy, and the opportunity to be a star on the volleyball court or pickle ball games.
Vince was proceeded in death by his parents Gerald and Florence DeMars, brothers Cyril and Ray DeMars, Brother in Law Melvin Scheuble, and nephews Lucas Rasset and Michael DeMars.
He is survived by: his wife Judy, son Chris (Stephanie) DeMars, daughter Nichole (Kipton) Kalamaha and grandchildren Anthony DeMars and Makayla DeMars; Siblings Francis (Lana) DeMars, Phillip (Kim) DeMars, Catherine (David Cooley) DeMars, Jeanne (Conrad) Derus, Larry (Kathy) DeMars, Neal (Sue) DeMars, Victoria (Bob) Kalinowski, Annette (Ken) Kaiser; sister in law Sherry DeMars; Father and Mother in Law Marvin and Ellen Scheuble; Brothers in Law Rick (Shirley) Scheuble and Gary Scheuble; Sisters in Law Peggy (Dewey) Cardinal, Darlene (Ron) Otto, Renee (Dave) Hausladen, Jan (Mike) Rasset, Deb (Steve) Loebertmann, RoseMary (Jim) Woitalla, and Lori (Tom) Stifter; and many other relatives, nieces, nephews and Friends.

I shall remember the many good times that Vince and I shared at Siesta Bay in Florida. Vince was a true gentleman and will be missed by his many friends.
Judy,
You are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this time of grief.
Judy and family, Dan and I are so saddened to hear of Vince’s passing away. You and your extended families are in our prayers. Don’t know if we can make the visitation/funeral but will try. My sister, Cheri is getting married the same day in Litchfield at 1:30. I did tell Walter Klatt about the funeral. Walter is Dan’s Godfather and uncle. Walter and Vince worked at Wonderall’s in Buffalo.
Our prayers for the Vincent DeMars family.
