My ❤️️ Hurts to hear this news. I love you always. You were a kind and beautiful soul. Rest In Peace my friend.
Too soon to leave all the families who loved her. Rest in peace Vesta Gay.
Such a sweet woman. Gay is going to be missed by so many. Our condolences to her entire family.
We are extremely saddened by your passing and will cherish the memories. You are forever a kind soul that has brought joy to everyone around you. RIP, sweet lady.
I am so sorry for your loss. It’s been quite awhile since I have seen her but I remembered her from the Delano Legion when she worked there.
She was a great lady and will be missed by all who knew her. My condolences to your family.
It’s so very sad to lose such a beautiful soul so soon. Vesta is now free, flying free and flying far from any pain. She is soaring and watching over those she loved dearly, and comforting all those that feel the pain of having to let her go. I have many memories that I hold very close to heart that I shared with this special lady. Vesta was one of the most genuine, caring, down to earth souls I have ever met. One who had never strayed from who she was and was always the same loving, giving person each and every day. Heaven has gained a very special Angel, and it will be an honor to share the celebration of her life. May God comfort you John and family, friends, and may you find peace and content with the memories you shared with Vesta. She will always be with us all. God Bless
I’m so grateful that Gay was a part of my life. She was a kind soul who will be missed so much. I feel like I just talked to her & saw her. I’m heartbroken & my heart hurts for all who loved her. RIP my friend.
Dearest Gay; Everyone loved you who knew you. I will never forget you dancing away to Joe Cocker cleaning the house. You have the best heart and a beautiful smile. Our deepest sympathy to everyone who loves you. Rest now with your mom and dad.
My speech at her service My Sister
Was Kind & was Good.
Jonny Cash would have said: “She Walked the Line”.
We had plans for this Spring and Summer. Like taking Lyric & Jax out to as many places as we could, & just spend time together. Planting her flower pots and watching them grow. But this spring of course seemed like it was never going to get here.
Over the last few years we were garage saling maniac’s, until we either ran out of $ or were wore out. But found a few treasures.
Lyric was very special to Gay just as Gay was to her.
She misses Gay & I will make sure
she always remembers her.
Another quality Gay had was that she never forgot anything. She would be telling me stories of when we were little girls that I could not remember. But as she kept telling me more details I eventually got it.
She tried so hard not to get lost during her fight with cancer. She was a girl on a mission to give it all she had, and she did.
I would like to take opportunity to thank John. He fought the battle with her and never left her side. As they would always say, they were best friends. John was like her Rock her protector. Their love will never die.
To her sons, their wives, and grandson Jax. You cannot ever know just how much she loved you and always said she just wants you to be Happy. So try to find all the happiness you can.
Gay was friends to so many, and even a 2ed mom to some. Mike Cappi thought of her as his mom and even called her mom. He too was there for her and whatever she needed it was done. Sometimes staying with her for days, cleaning, cooking, and fixing things around the house and so on.
Mike thank you from the bottom of my heart.
When taking her to and from Dr. apts and treatments I never thought of it as a task, I considered it time together and tried to make it more comfortable fun for her.
She felt the need to be baptized. While we were planning Lyrics Baptism a few years ago it turned into a family event for us. I actually felt the weight being lifted off me. I will never forget it. And then a few months ago Gay decided to have the hospital clergyman baptize her. I know she had to be feeling it too.
We grew up going to church. Every Sunday I walked Gay and Benita to Sunday School. We loved sitting in the front row and watching our grandma Mary sing and play the piano. It’s always been one of my best memories.
I have always believed in Christ and heaven. But over the last decade or so with all the scientific talk about evaluation and so on, I was starting to doubt there was a heaven. I do believe everything evolves, it has to, everything changes. But, and I say but something had the create everything. It didn’t just appear.
I do believe in heaven and I know our family who has passed on are there.
I have had Gay with me for 54 of my 56 years.
And because I believe even with my broken heart I know
Gay is there “Heaven” and her love lives on.
And for that am ok thanks to Jesus
I am ok, I know where she is.
I am ok…
