Vernon Kenneth Anderson, age 88 and formerly of Richfield passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Marantha Independent Living in Brooklyn Center.

He was born on December 1, 1922 in Minneapolis the son of Elmer & Lillie Davo Anderson.

Vernon attended McKinley School in rural Waverly.

In January 1943 , Vernon Anderson & Agatha Niemczycki were joined in holy marriage at All Saints Church in NE Mpls.

He was employed for more than forty years at Toro and retired in 1984.

Vernon belonged to Crystal VFW Post #494 & American Legion Post # 511.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, & spending time at the cabin.

Survived by sisters & a brother: Margie (Claude) Rice of Las Vegas, Jerry (Delores) Anderson of Maple Grove, & Carron (Ralph) Lauseng of Welch; many nieces & nephews, other relatives & friends.

Preceded in death by loving wife Agatha “Aggie;” his parents Elmer & Lillie Anderson; sisters and a brother: Marvel Erdahl, Helen Kramatz, & Harold Anderson.

Funeral services for Vernon Anderson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Deacon-Greg Steele will officiate.

Marlene Mohwinkel will be the organist and Rolf Mohwinkel will be the soloist and he sang “Green, Green Grass of Home” and “Old Rugged Cross”.

Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery in Minneapolis.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6th one hour prior to service at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Honorary Casket Bearer will be Jim Richter.

Casket Bearers will be Brian Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Steve Schirmers, Richard Erdahl, Tom Moe and George Sroka.
