Vernice C. Schaefer, 95, died on November 4th, 2007 after a long illness.
Vernice was born in Buffalo, Minnesota, to Oscar and Alice Bonstrom on May 23rd, 1912. She married Jerome Schaefer and they continued to live in Buffalo. Vernice loved to sing and she and her sister, Gladys, sang in the Zion Lutheran Church for weddings and funerals. She was member of the Zion choir for many years.
Vernice was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Alice Bonstrom; sisters: Gladys Callerstrom Vikner and Marlys Rustad; brother: Vernon Bonstrom; and nephew: Gary Rustad.
She is survived by brother: Orlin (Mary) Bonstrom; brother-in-law: Bernie Rustad; sister-in-law: LaVerne Bonstrom; nephew and nieces: Ted (Mary) Callerstrom, Vannie Callerstrom, Carolyn Danielson, Jeannie (David) Dixon, Jerry Bonstrom, Sheryl (Ron) Rustad Clark, Collen (Brian) Rustad Sampson, Dana Bonstrom, Kim (Kim) Bonstrom and Kristine (Christophe) Bonstrom Vial.
Funeral services for Vernice will be Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 2pm at Zion Lutheran Church of Buffalo. There will be a 1 hour visitation prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to a memorial for Vernice at Zion Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank the many staff members at Parkview Care Center and the staff from Hospice of North Memorial.
Wish we could be there for the service. With love to all the family,

We wish we could have been there to celebrate Vernice’s long life. She is no doubt celebrating with friends and family who’ve gone on before. Rest in Peace Aunt Vernice. Your journey on earth is done.
