Terry E. Napper, age 73 of Buffalo, was called by God to his eternal home on November 2, 2020 while on hospice at his residence.
Terry was born the son of Myron & Ruth (Grover) Napper on December 6, 1946 in International Falls, MN.
Terry attended and received a degree in commercial art and then a degree in teaching. His teaching career began by teaching at Parochial Schools in California, Iowa and Farmington. He settled in teaching elementary school in Howard Lake Waverly and realized that teaching was his true calling. Terry loved teaching elementary school, Sunday School at Church and 5th grade Confirmation. This love would spill over to working Saturday’s and having multiple projects at home, all geared for his school kids.
He was united in marriage to, fellow teacher, Susan (nee, Stevens) in 1977 after meeting her when starting his job in Howard Lake Waverly.
Terry was the most kind hearted, thoughtful man. His idea of a fun afternoon would have been pulling his kids in the wagon to Ben Franklin in downtown Buffalo. He would buy them craft supplies and candy and then enjoyed spending the rest of the day with them, working on multiple projects. He also loved the time he was able to spend with his grandkids. Terry loved rocking them, playing with them and cherished just being in their presence.
Terry is survived by wife, Sue Napper; children, Sara Napper, Joe Napper and Becca (Corey) Commerford; grandchildren, Ryan Klima, Kendra (Trevor) Bray, Kailey (Frank) James, Ashleigh Napper, Connor Commerford, Tasha Jurgens, Carissa Napper and Briella Napper; siblings, Marilyn (Randy) Hed, Michael (Jim Johnson) Napper and Vernon (Roxanne) Napper; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Myron & Ruth; daughter-in-law, Jessica Napper; siblings, Dennis and Scott Napper.
Public visitation for Terry will be held Saturday, November 7 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 2nd St. NE, Buffalo.
Private family services will be held following the visitation, Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Buffalo. The service will be livestreamed and the link can be found on Terry’s obituary at www.thepetersonchapel.com
Officiating will be Pastor Ryan Clark.
Honorary casket bearers will be Terry’s grandchildren, Ryan, Kendra,
Kailey, Ashleigh, Connor, Tasha, Carissa and Briella.
Private family interment to be held at a later date.
Sue and family. I was saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. He was an inspiration to all. I never heard him to complain and always had a welcoming smile. May he rest in his eternal home. God will always be by you during this sad tine.
Mr Napper was my 4th grade teacher. I remember he read books to us after lunch, and was a really nice man.
So sorry to hear about Terrys passing. He was always so joyful in everything he did. I know he will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. He was such a wonderful teacher! I enjoyed working with him when he taught at Humphrey in Waverly, and all of my children that had him as a teacher remember him quite well! He was a happy man.

I have so many fond memories of Terry. He was such a kind, gentle, funny man. He was my neighbor, brother in law, and friend. I can only imagine how great it would be to have him as a teacher! Those lucky kids!! RIP dear Terry.

I am so sorry to hear about Terry’s passing! He truly enjoyed teaching! I had a great time attending our educational workshops with him! My thoughts are with you!
Our love and prayers are with you and the family. We will miss our loved Terry, but being with the Lord is so much better for him. We remember the “Susan Tamer” with warmth and joy for he was the kindest man we have known. You two were so good for each other.

I too recall a wonderful friend and co-worker today with sadness that I am not able to extend my sympathy personally. Terry will remain in my memory as a kind and “gentle”man who glowed with his love for teaching. His influence on the halls of Humphrey Elementary and his students should be of comfort to your family of the fine character he demonstrated to each of us who had the privilege to know him.
