Teresa M. (Murphy) Pettit, age 87 of St. Michael, MN passed away on March 4, 2016 at North Memorial Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center, MN surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa M. Pettit will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12 PM at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12th two hours prior to Mass at the Church from 10 am to 12 PM.

Teresa was born on August 13, 1928 in Loretto, MN to Bill and Louise (Altendorf) Murphy.
She grew up in Loretto, the daughter of the town blacksmith.

Teresa married Mike Pettit in holy matrimony on November 10, 1951 in Loretto. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Mike and Teresa were dairy farmers in Corcoran until their retirement when they moved to St Michael in 1984.

Teresa loved to play cards and spend time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the family’s annual vacation in Paynesville. Teresa was a devoted catholic, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caretaker to all.

Survived by her children, Tim (Alice) of Longville, MN, Peggy (Bob) Bonicatto of Crystal, MN, Rick (Denise) of Rockford, MN, Cindy (Shaun) Irwin of Loretto, MN, Tricia (Matt) Stahlmann of St. Michael, MN; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Anne)Murphy of Portland, OR; sister, Catherine Saliga of New Hope, MN; sisters-in-law, Barb Murphy and Joanne Pettit.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Louise Murphy, husband, Mike, son, Joe, and brother, Bob Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the MN Society for the Blind.
