Suzanne Kay Schmidt (nee Dorma), age 71, of Buffalo passed away on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
She was born on February 22, 1945 the daughter of Arthur and Amelia (Stueven) Dorma.
Suzanne was baptized on March 18, 1945 at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on May 3, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale.
Suzanne graduated from Annandale High School in 1963.
On August 16, 1997, Suzanne and Raymond Schmidt were joined in holy marriage at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
She was a faithful member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Suzanne belonged to Hosanna’s Altar Guild, LWML and attended Bible class.
She was a great gardener both vegetables and flowers.
Suzanne also enjoyed traveling with her husband Ray and seeing Israel was the highlight of her travels.
Survived by loving husband: Raymond H. Schmidt; a son: Braden G. Callenius of Albertville and fiancée Kathlyn E. Jensen; four sisters: Lael (Charles) Anderson of Ramsey, Cheryl (Dean) Bruns and Marcia (Steve) Connelly all of Annandale & Judy Dorma Hardie of Rockford; stepson: Kevin (Katie) Schmidt of Buffalo; 3 grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; brother in law & sister in law: Don (Krystina) Schmidt and sister in law & brother in law: Carol (Ken) Meyer all of Buffalo; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Arthur & Amelia Dorma and by a step daughter Janelle Schmidt.
Funeral Services for Suzanne Schmidt were held on Wednesday, March 9th at 11:00 A.M. at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Rob Jarvis officiated. Joanne Jarvis was the organist for the funeral service and Dawn Anderson the vocalist. Interment followed at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery-Pelican Lake.
A visitation was held Tuesday, March 8th from 4-8 P.M. AT THE CHURCH. A Prayer Service was held at 7:00 P.M. Further visitation was held Wednesday morning, March 9th one hour prior to services at the church.
Casket Bearers were Troy, Brent and Travis Anderson, Craig Dorma, Michael Donaghue and McKay Mortenson.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to Hosanna Lutheran Church.
