Steven Ward Colbjornsen, age 56, of Maple Grove passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009.

He was born on February 22, 1952 to Harold & Lorraine Colbjornsen in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota.

He graduated from Anoka High School in 1970. Shortly after High School, he joined The United States Marine Corps. During his years in service, Steve spent sometime over in Okinawa and received his Rifle Expert Badge.

Steven Ward Colbjornsen & Linda L. Snodgrass were joined in holy marriage on May 29, 1976 at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter Kelly Jo.

Steve became the proud grandpa of Gage Merlin Lawrance on October 20, 2006. He also was excited to welcome the birth of his twin granddaughters in February.

Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed many hobbies with family and friends which included camping, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Steve and Linda spent the majority of their marriage at their home in Maple Grove. The past few years they stated out at “The Farm” in Buffalo where Steve became a master gardener.

Steve also had a passion for dogs. He will be leaving behind two loyal labs Gunnar and K.C.

Survived by his loving wife of thirty two years: Linda L. Colbjornsen; daughter: Kelly Jo Colbjornsen and special friend Sean Lawrance; grandson: Gage Lawrance; his mother: Lorraine M. Colbjornsen of Isle, Minnesota; sisters and brothers: Nancy Colbjornsen of Inver Grove Heights, Mary (Harlan) Garbe of Danbury, Wisconsin, Kay (Kevin) Carlson of Cedar, Chris (Cheryl) Colbjornsen of Crystal, Dan (Leni) Colbjornsen of East Bethel, Tom (Annette) Colbjornsen of North Branch and Jean (Rich) Colbjornsen of Prescott, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father: Harold Colbjornsen, a niece: Sarah Mae Colbjornsen and by his mother-in-law: Esther Snodgrass and his father-in-law: Merlin Snodgrass.

Funeral services for Steven Colbjornsen were held on Wednesday, January 28th at 2:00 P.M. at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. Pastor Michael Barlow officiated and interment with military rites followed at Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends called on Tuesday, January 27th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer service was held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening.

Honorary Casket Bearers were-Godchildren & Best Friend Amanda Carlson, Jean Colbjornsen & Jim Baumgarten.

Casket Bearers were Sean Lawrance, Dan Colbjornsen, Tom Colbjornsen, Josh Colbjornsen, Ted Colbjornsen and Ken Snodgrass.
