Steven J. Kohnen, age 53, of Rogers, one month before his 54th birthday, left this earth and stepped into the arms of His Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

Steve was well known & loved by many who will miss his smile, his sense of humor, and his gift of helping whenever help was needed.

He was born in Buffalo the son of Marlin C. and Agnes M. Volkenant Kohnen on September 28. 1954.

Steve graduated from Buffalo High School in 1972.

He owned and operated Steve Kohnen Excavating for many years.

On September 13, 1980, Steve Kohnen was married to Linda Heuring at The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael. God blessed their marriage with four children.

He enjoyed to work, taking his Harley Davidson motorcycle for early Sunday morning rides and ice fishing.

Survived by wife: Linda M. Kohnen; children: Thomas Kohnen of Albertville, Stefanie, Michael and Anna Kohnen all at home; his mother: Agnes M. Kohnen of Albertville; brothers & sisters: Gary (Vivian) Kohnen of Rockford, Kathleen (Dennis) Beaudry of Otsego, Mark (Eveleen) Kohnen of Buffalo, Janet (Arthur) Jones of New Hope and Peggy (Mike) Robeck of St. Michael; his mother-in-law: Florence Heuring of Rogers; seven brothers-in-law, eight sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father: Marlin C. Kohnen and father-in-law: Norman A. Heuring.

Funeral services for Steve Kohnen were held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 2nd at Hope Community Church in Corcoran. Pastor Rich Hubert officiated and interment followed at New Joy Cemetery.

Special Music by Jim Chamberlain singing “Smiling Down”. Pianist was Linda Johnson and violinist was Gwen Segelstrom. Congregational hymns were “In Christ Alone” and “It Is Well with My Soul”.

A visitation was held on Monday, September 1st from 3-8 P.M. at the church. A Time of Sharing was held at 7:00 P.M.

Casket Bearers were Randy Vergin, Nathan Kohnen, Dan Kohnen, Katie Jones, Joe Heuring, Ryan Vollbrecht, Tyler Pollock and Ben Heuring.
