Stephen B. Mingo 52, died peacefully at home on Jan 5, 2009 from a 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his mother Donna Mingo of St Michael, his wife Jackie of Monticello, their children: Keri Hile (Mark) of Anchorage Alaska, Jill Gratrix of Monticello, Joy Anderson of Blaine, Shelly Villaverde (Kevin Kasper) of St Michael, Todd Gratrix (Karen) of Monticello, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brothers Russ (Ann), Dick (Barb), Doug (Sue), Don (Brenda), David (Cheryl), Tom (Cathy) and sister Denice (James) Clark. Stephen was preceded in death by his father Rodney Mingo.
Steve and Jackie spent 29 love-filled years together in Monticello. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, traveling, and golfing. He was a very peaceful, gentle man with a heart of gold, a contagious laugh and the patience of a saint. He will be greatly missed by all.
A Funeral mass for Steve will be on Friday January 9, 2009, at 11 AM at the Historic St. Michael Catholic Church, in St. Michael. Father Gregory Abbott officiating. A Memorial gathering will be Thursday evening from 4-8 at the Peterson Chapel in St. Michael, with a prayer service at 7 PM. The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael is serving the family.
