Shirley Ione Goskey, age 93, of Buffalo and formerly of Hanover/Burschville passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Lake Ridge Care Center .

She was born on January 20, 1919 in Burschville the daughter of Peter & Minnie Strehler Sipe.

On June 26, 1937, Shirley I. Sipe and Bernard W. Goskey were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood by Pastor W.P. Haar.

Following their marriage, Shirley & Bernard engaged in farming near Hanover . Shirley also did house cleaning around the Wayzata area.

She enjoyed music, gardening, flowers, cooking and playing cards.

Shirley was a faithful member of St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church in Hanover .

Survived by her daughters: Gerry (Cliff) Olson of Riverside, California and Sheryl “Susie” (Pete) Barthel of Buffalo; daughters-in-law: Darlean Goskey of Rogers and Donna Goskey of Elk River; fifteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Dick Goth of Otsego; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband: Bernard W. Goskey, sons: Lyle & Darryl Goskey, two infant sons, her parents, brothers: Sherman, Virgil and Glen Sipe and by a sister: Sharon Goth.

Funeral services for Shirley Goskey will be held on Monday, March 26th, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church in Hanover . Pastor Gorden Estenson will officiate.

Private interment St. Paul ’s Lutheran Cemetery .

A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, March 26th one hour prior to services.

Casket Bearers will be grandsons: Dan, Joe, Dion, Gary and Tim Goskey and godson-Jerry Sipe.

Honorary Casket Bearer will be grandson Scott Olson.
