Shirley Helen Babler was born to Charles and Helen Barrows in Maple Grove, Minnesota on January 22, 1929. She passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School in 1947.

On November 7, 1953, Shirley married Christopher Babler at Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were blessed with six children.

Shirley was a member of the Christian Mothers Organization. She enjoyed gardening, was an excellent seamstress, loved reading, and was an avid traveler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris; parents, Charles and Helen; brothers, Donald and Hugh; sisters, Marion and Lorraine, as well as an infant son. She is survived by her children, John (Ruth) Babler of Becker, Minnesota; Theresa Babler of Goldendale, Washington; Ann (Steve Ballis) Babler of Austin, Texas; Joe Babler of Oak Park, Minnesota; Fran Babler (Chuck McMurtrey), of Washougal, Washington; Tom (Lucille) Babler, Brainerd, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 with visitation and rosary beginning at 8:30 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (11300 Frankfort Pkwy NE, St. Michael, MN). There will be a private burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. No flowers please. Donations will be given to the Lenity Project for Center for Working Families located in Quito, Ecuador.
