Sheri Lynn McCallum was born in Buffalo on November 2, 1962 the daughter of Gordon and Vernetta (Middelstadt) Zimmerman. Sheri was baptized on November 18, 1962 at Salem Lutheran Church. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Salem on April 11, 1976.

Sheri graduated from Buffalo High School in 1980 and completed her bachelor’s degree at Metropolitan State University and graduated in January of 1989.  On October 4, 1986, Sheri Zimmerman was joined in holy marriage to Douglas McCallum at Salem Lutheran Church. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Sheri was a lifelong, faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church in Greenfield and played in the Church hand bells for several years.

She was proud of her 30-year career in Human Resources. She was also grateful to have several years away from work and dedicated to raising her children prior to joining Whirltronics Inc. in Buffalo where she was employed as the Human Resource Director for 18 years.

Sheri will be remembered for her drive, enduring faith, positive attitude and always having a funny line to sing. She loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She cherished watching her grandkids grow, taking them to parks, playing Legos and going for Pontoon rides. She enjoyed her time up north and hosting friends and family at her Mille Lacs Lake home. She particularly appreciated relaxing in her swing looking at the lake. Some of her favorite activities included caring for her garden and sharing what she grew with others, traveling the country, walking on the beach, and watching the Vikings play.

Survived by her loving husband of thirty-six years: Douglas A. McCallum; a son: Bryan (Danielle) McCallum of Rogers; a daughter: Megan (Adam) Dickman of Blaine; three wonderful grandchildren: Elijah and Ethan McCallum and Graham Dickman; brothers; Randy (Cindy) Zimmerman, Thomas Zimmerman and Timothy Zimmerman; a brother-in-law: Dennis Baker; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her parents and by a sister Janet “Jan” Baker.

It was a pleasure to have known Sheri. We met at Buffalo Senior High in 1980.
Always a smile and always a joke to share.
I shared many photos of Sheri, Doug and their grandchildren at their Mille Lacs home.
May she rest in eternal peace. Grant the family members left behind peace.

I am blessed to call Sheri my friend for over 40 years. We met at Anoka Ramsey Community College and shared several classes together. Each year we got together to celebrate our birthdays. The song “Freeze -Frame” by J Geils Band will always remind me of Sheri and our downhill ski trips. I am grateful for our time together and the fond memories. Rest in peace my friend.
