May 10, 1999 – June 25, 2022

Sean Michael Wehmhoff passed from this Earth to be with our Lord in Heaven on June 25, 2022. He passed suddenly and unexpectedly but peacefully and quietly.

Sean is survived by his mother, Angela Wehmhoff; brother, Alex Wehmhoff; stepfather, Paul Angerhofer; Grandmother, Cindy Olson (Bruce); Grandmother, Geraldine Byers; and Grandmother, Carol Angerhofer; Great Aunt, Grace Baker; Aunt, Kathy Wehmhoff; Aunt, Colleen Wehmhoff (Godmother); Aunt, Jackie Kiefat (Ray); cousin, Kaden Kiefat; Uncle, Bill Byers (Kathy); cousins, Emily Byers and Samantha Byers; Aunt, Sheila Byers Pham (Huy); cousins, Felicity Pham and Christian Pham, Mark Byers (Godfather); as well as many beloved relatives in New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

Sean is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Scott Wehmhoff; Grandfather, Joseph Gregory Wehmhoff; Grandfather, William Harrison Byers; and Grandfather, Arnold William Angerhofer.

Sean was born to Joseph Wehmhoff and Angela Byers Wehmhoff on May 10, 1999. He was a big, beautiful baby boy with blue eyes like his father. He was a happy boy and greatly loved. The boys experienced great tragedy when their father Joe passed away after a short bout with very aggressive cancer. Two months later, their grandfather Big Joe Wehmhoff (Opa) passed away. Sean would never completely recover from these events.

Sean had to go on and forward in life. In high school, he played football for the Buffalo Bison which he greatly enjoyed. He became a total sports fan and would become very upset when the MN Vikings or MN Wild lost games. If he called Mom from work during a game, she knew he probably wasn’t too happy about its outcome.

Sean had a great love of all animals especially dogs and cats but definitely not mice. He was always happy to give lots of affection to a friendly dog or cat. He loved his Aunt’s dogs and his cat, Spooky.

Sean went to college at Hennepin Technical College to be an auto mechanic. He experienced a change of mind and went to work at BP Gas Station in Buffalo MN. He had a great friendship with his boss, Terri. He assisted many people in secret. He gave money to people who would come into the store in bad condition. He was known to pay for gas for some people as well. This was known only to his mother and is being shared for all to know.

Sean loved music. He could play the clarinet, bass guitar, guitar and was semi competent on the drums, an instrument his father played. He hadn’t played in a while, but had been talking about getting back into it. He had a varied taste in music and would listen to classic rock and roll, hip hop and electronic music.

Sean loved fast cars and was apparently saving his money to buy a 1.7 million dollar Koenigsegg?!

Sean had a vast wealth of knowledge on many things. He was highly intelligent with a high IQ. Sean was a great lover of the Lord of the Rings and the works of JRR Tolkien.  He believed that even the smallest person could change the course of the future. Sean had a strong faith in God but he did struggle with a lot of doubt and pain. Sean could have a difficult temperament at times but he always came out of it. He always wanted to be forgiven and forgive.

Sean had a very good sense of humor. He had the best laugh. He could see humor in almost everything. He and his mother and brother shared many different photos, jokes and memes some of them incredibly ‘nerdy’.

Sean loved storms. He loved to see the wildness of nature. He wanted to travel and wanted to see different parts of our world. He hated summer and loved fall and winter. He’d often said he would like to live in Alaska.

Sean loved social gatherings. He loved Holiday gatherings and the warmth of candles and sitting with family. He loved going to the Wehmhoff households, hanging out with his Aunts and loved his Grandmother Cindy’s cooking. He enjoyed large gatherings with the Byers family. But Sean also loved to have a relaxed dinner with his Mom, Paul and Alex. He loved to go to Mass, watch movies and just chill out. His Mom, Paul and Alex have so many dear memories of relaxing with him especially the last gathering, this past Easter.

Sean loved his friends. He was fiercely loyal to all he was close with. His buddies like Jonny, Steven, Noah, Pat, Austin, Kaleb and many others that he was close to in his younger years too. He loved chilling with buddies, driving around and gave his mother quite a few gray hairs in his high school years.

Sean was very close and loyal to his older brother Alex. They never had a serious argument, ever. They loved, respected and protected one another. When Alex got home at night, Sean would say “ALLUXX” and Alex would say “Yeeeaaugh”

Sean was a gentle and kind young man. If each of us had just a small amount of the loyalty he had, we’d be better people by far. Sean is gone way too soon and there is nothing that can be said or done to ease his parting for those that loved him.

“I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all.  I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.  Tasks undone must stay that way.  I found that peace at close of day.  If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. Perhaps my time here seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me.  God wanted me now- He set me free”

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN.

Serving the family is The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo, MN. 763-682-1363. www.thepetersonchapel.com.

Our love is with you all. This is the most amazing beautiful obituary I’ve ever seen. Sean was an amazing young man, both him & Alex. His love for Family, friends and animals was real.you could his genuine love and kindness deep in your soul. Our Bentley would get so excited to see him. He would not leave Sean’s side. I can’t remember a single time he didn’t give me a grand Hello & a hug when he walked in our home. We will miss him so very much.
May we all find comfort together as we are all heartbroken. Extra prayers for Algela, Paul & Alex… our hearts are hurting with you. I’m so sorry you are having to go through this, I can’t begin to imagine your pain.
I’d like to our most favorite song for Sean…
    “I can only Imagine “.

I feel so blessed that just a few weeks ago Sean came to hangout with me and the pups. We grilled out, listened to music, chatted about politics and his future interest in computer security as a potential career. As he was leaving, in true Sean fashion, he opened his arms wide which was my invitation for a “Sean Hug”. I told him “I Love You and drive safe.” His last words to me were “Love You Too”. I will forever miss him!

While we only had brief conversations with him throughout the years, none of the above comes as a surprise. Because Angie has shared so many of her proud mom moments with us all. You are a phenomenal mother Angie. Our hearts ache for you and all of his loved ones. You all are; and will continue to be in our prayers. We love you.

My heart absolutely aches at the monumental sadness you’re all feeling and nothing in this life will ever feel the same after this loss. I’m praying for peace and comfort for you and yours. What a beautiful tribute you left to your boy. God Bless you all.
