Sandra Lee Montague, age 72 of Rockford, MN passed away on July 12, 2022. She was home, surrounded by her loving family, where she passed peacefully.

Sandy was born October 5, 1949, in Kalispell, Montana to her late parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Manicke. Sandy graduated from Black Hills State University in Rapid City, South Dakota. Following graduation, she enjoyed her careers as a corporate professional with International Dairy Queen. She then was a home daycare provider and later nanny for many years, which allowed her to raise her daughters. She continued working, when her daughters were older at, Pako, then a nanny. She retired at the age of 65 with her husband, Gerald Montague.

On June 19, 1976, Sandra Manicke and Jerry Montague were united in marriage, fittingly, in Big Fork, Minnesota. They raised their children in Maple Grove, MN. Sandy and Jerry lived in Maple Grove, MN until 2014, then moved to a beautiful condo in Rockford, MN.

Sandy was a dedicated Christian and for the last several years, attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover. She had a strong love for Jesus. She would always say that she wanted her family to have Jesus in their hearts, always.

For years, Sandy enjoyed going to her neighborhood card club. She loved playing bingo with her husband and friends, coloring, and of course, her love of Publishers Clearing House. Sandy spent a great deal of time with her family. Sandy and Jerry enjoyed traveling together, especially to her homestead in Montana.

Sandy had a beautiful voice, that was very memorable. She had the most caring and generous heart. She helped so many people, in so many ways. She supported her family, unconditionally. Sandy is a true matriarch to her family; she will be dearly missed!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Manicke; granddaughter, Savannah Leckie; special aunt and uncle, Marlene and Chuck Barton; and beloved dogs, Benjamin and Fraiser

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Montague; daughters, Tamile Montague Leckie, Amanda Montague (Mario), Lisa (Benjamin) Orn; grandchildren, Michael, Makayla, Blaine, Ella, Owen, Jace, Gretta, Piper, Aunie; and brother, Del (Joy) Manicke.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover, MN. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hanover, MN. Lunch will follow burial.
