Sam (Sammarie) Durushia went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 8/6/22. Sam was a beautiful person, and a passionate master quilter. She loved woodworking, spending time visiting and playing cards with family and friends. Sam also liked to help veterans and the elderly. She was an accomplished seamstress and a 2nd degree black belt in Jujitsu. She loved DIY projects and was constantly in the middle of something new. Sam was known as a fun, adventurous, creative, humorous, bright, and charming woman.

Sam’s dying days were made peaceful by knowing she was on her way to heaven. She was surrounded by love from those who visited with her and especially her daily video chats with her mom brought her peace as well.

Sam was survived by her children: Josh Durushia, Kate Griese, Bryan Durushia, Paul Durushia, her mom Shirley Rhude (Warren), brother Bob (Deb).

Sam is so blessed to be in heaven with no pain or sorrow, walking with Jesus every-day!

Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. Online condolences for the family may be directed to www.thepetersonchapel.com

Sending prayers, love and sympathy to the family. My memories of your sister go back over 40 years. She and her beautiful Mom AKA my Dear Friend Shirley were even my daughter’s Sunday School teachers! Thank you for so graciously caring for her until Jesus took her home.
