Ruth B. Averbeck, 83, of Buffalo passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 in her home with her loving family nearby.
She was born on July 15th, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Rev. Ervin and Alice Brueckner. Upon graduation from high school in Stockbridge, WI, she attended Crown College (S.P.B.I.) in St. Paul. She married Marshall Averbeck on June 10th, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI. Together, they pastured churches for 42 years in six states. They were blessed with two children: Darla and Gary. Upon retiring, she drew up a floor plan for a house which a nephew built for them in Texas. Later, they moved to Colorado Springs and lived there a few years before finally moving to Buffalo, Minnesota.
Ruth is survived by her husband: Rev. Marshall Averbeck; son: Gary (Carol) Averbeck of Buffalo; daughter: Darla (Rev. Stephen) Jones of Brooklyn Park; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and nephews, nieces, and many other friends and relatives.
Her Memorial Service was Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at 2pm at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Visitation will begin at 1pm.
