Ruth Anne Sunvold, age 74 of Rogers, MN passed away on May 23, 2013. Funeral service on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment at Hayden Cemetery, Madison, MN.
Ruth was born on Dec. 21, 1938 to Gustav & Gladys (Baker) Klefsaas in Lake Shore Township, Lac Qui Parle Co., MN. She graduated from Madison High School and attended the University of Minnesota. She married Wesley Sunvold on May 2, 1959 in Madison, MN. Ruth enjoyed living on a Minnesota farm, the smell of lilacs, rhubarb, baseball, learning, playing cards with her card clubs, and visiting Disney World. Ruth loved music, and directed church choirs and taught piano lessons for decades. Her greatest joy was her family: husband, children, daughter-in-law, granddaughter Piper (her special girl), granddaughter Reagan (her catcher), parents, siblings, in-laws, and nephews and nieces. Ruth lived with grace, and the peace of Christ, in her heart, which she shared with all in spirit, actions, and words. This was her greatest testament. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wesley; daughter, Judy Sunvold; son, John (Peggy) Sunvold; granddaughters Piper & Reagan; brother, Donald Klefsaas; sisters, Carol Abild and Lois Klefsaas; sister-in-law, Mavis Klefsaas; sister-in-law, Phyllis (John Arlen) Johnson; brother-in-law, Roger (Marge) Sunvold; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Gustav and Gladys Klefsaas, brother Harold Klefsaas, and brother-in-law Gerald Abild; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Mildred Sunvold. Memorials preferred to Samaritan’s Purse.
