Ruby Rosella Melcher, 79, of Rockford on Dec 12th, peacefully died while surrounded by family. She will be sadly missed & proudly remembered by 3 generations of family & friends.

Anker and Esther (nee Blom) Christensen, on September 9th, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minnesota became blessed with a daughter and named her Ruby Rosella Christensen.

She is preceded in death by husbands: Gary Melcher and Don Johnson; parents: Anker and Esther Christensen; and a sister: Ellen Gullickson.

Ruby is survived by her loving children: David Johnson of Bloomington, Roxane Kuehn of Rockford, Juliann (Mike) Johnson Buffalo, and Troy (Marie) Melcher; grandchildren: Tricia (Gene) Gruber, Rachel (Ryan) Kuehn, Josh Kuehn, Jessica (Josh) Storz, Jenny (Ben) Patnode, Chris Blom, Luke Blom; great grandchildren: Jake Gruber, Kacey Gruber, Baylie Gruber and Taylor Storz; sister: Lily Schermerhorn of Bloomington; nephews, nieces, and many good friends

Visitation will be Sun, Dec 16th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Corcoran from 4 to 7pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Mon, Dec 17th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Corcoran at 11am with a 1 hr visitation prior to the start of mass.

Interment will be at St. Patrick™s Cemetery of Corcoran.
