Ruby Weege
age 75, of rural Delano died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at her home.

On October 23, 1931 Ruby Marie was born to Leo H. and Pearl A. (nee Berg) LeNoue in Kent. She was baptized by Father Warmers on November 8, 1931 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent. As a young girl, Ruby™s family moved to Waverly, returned to Kent, then moved to Delano where she attended school, graduating in 1950.

On July 14, 1951, Ruby married Arnold Splittstozer. After his death in 1965, Ruby worked for Honeywell from 1966-1968. On December 14, 1968 Ruby married Alfred Weege. She was educated in the Lutheran faith and joined Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crawford Lake when she was confirmed by Pastor A.K. Hertler on August 17, 1969. Ruby farmed with Alfred until 1988. When Alfred moved to Park View Care Center, Ruby attended to him daily and volunteered her assistance. After his death in 1998, she continued volunteering there. In the year 2000, Ruby became an employee of the care center. She was working there as recently as May of 2006 when her health began to fail.

A faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ruby was active in the ladies™ aide. She frequently attended Delano Community Center, playing cards there and elsewhere. She enjoyed gardening and being with family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her children: Lynn (nee Weege) & Darren Hansen, Delano, Jay Splittstozer, also of Delano, RoxAnn Splittstozer, Hastings, and Michael & Rose Splittstozer, Buffalo; grandchildren: Emily Hansen, Ethan Hansen, Ashley Splittstozer, Joel & Emily Splittstozer; also known as Ma to: Gary & Cheryl Weege, Dassel, Sandy & Gerhardt Kottke, Hanover; also known as Grandma to: Monique & Tony Dannewitz and family,Shannon Weege & Wayne Schumann and family,Tom & Angela Stricklin and family, Julie & Woody Lamke and family, Brian & Amy Kottke and family, and David Kottke and family; brothers and sisters: Orville & Emma LeNoue, California, David & Diane LeNoue, also of California, Marge & Rollie Trask, Tennessee, Bonnie & Clarence Bjorkstrand, Minnesota, and Rosalie Myers, Missouri; Ruth LeNoue, Darlene LeNoue, and Carol Anderson, all from Minnesota; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husbands: Arnold Splittstozer and Alfred Weege, parents, Leo & Pearl LeNoue, stepmothers: Adeline LeNoue and Bernice LeNoue; parents in law: Edwin & Violet Splittstozer and Fredrick & Elsie Weege; brothers and sister: Warren Shorty LeNoue, Jerry LeNoue, Evelyn Otto; brothers and sister in law: Eleanor & Ernie Rick, Rod Otto and Floyd Anderson.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crawford Lake, Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Friday at The Peterson Chapel with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation resumed at church 1 hour before funeral. Casket bearers were: Brian Kottke, Tony Dannewitz, Dave Kottke, Wayne Schumann, Woody Lamke, and Tom Stricklin. Katie Stevens played the organ. The congregation sang: How Great Thou Art, Just As I am, and Abide with Me.

    I am deeply sorry for the death of Ruby. I used to work with her at Parkview. She will be forever missed and always thought of!
