Ruby Juanita (Stout) Cressman, age 84, of Buffalo, MN, formerly of Plymouth and Isle, passed away Tuesday May 18th, 2010, at the Buffalo Hospital with her daughters at her side.
Ruby was born on May 30th, 1925 in Avery County, NC, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Wise) Stout and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
After graduating from high school in Crossnore, NC, she married Melvin Q. Cressman in 1945. Melvin and Ruby bought and operated White Forest Resort in Nevis, MN from 1958 – 1973. After they sold the resort she worked as a precision-machinist for Nortronics in Golden Valley, MN. She retired in 1987. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially wintering in the southern states and summering in their lake-front home on Malone Island on Lake Mille Lacs, in Isle, MN.
Her favorite hobbies were gardening, quilting, taxidermy, logging their acreage, fishing and enjoying mother-nature.
Ruby is survived by her loving family: husband, Melvin, daughters Joy (LeRoy) Fuller of Minneapolis, MN, June (Dave) Vogltance of Dodge, NE and Gloria (Darryl Demarais) White of Buffalo, MN, son-in-law, Rick Lindquist of Brainerd, MN, grandchildren, Tony (Chris) Fuller, Greg (Julene) Fuller, Chris (Steve) Mendlik, Kim (Nick) Jarzynka, Brad (Kelli) Vogltance, Bryan (Laura) White and Eric White, great-grandchildren, Sean, Justin, Josh, Josie Fuller, Ashley, Jessa White, Zach, Haley, Trey, Quinn, Cole Mendlik, Pete, Jack, Kate, Ike Jarzynka, Kaela Rees and Celine Abadie, great-great granddaughter, Angelle Ritche, siblings, Ray (Mary Lee) Stout of Charlotte, NC, Allen (Jackie) Stout of Clinton, OH, Fred (Gladys) Stout of Newland, NC, Mabel (Bob) Harvey of Newland, NC, Helen (Bill) Weatherman of Newland, NC, sister-in-law, Annie Stout of Virginia.
Ruby is preceded in death by: daughter, Wanda Lindquist, great-grandson Cole Fuller, grandson Michael White, siblings, John R. (Dorothy) Stout, Jack Stout, parents, Thomas and Anna Stout.
Casket Bearers are LeRoy Fuller, Darryl Demarais, Dave Vogltance, Tony Fuller, Bryan White, Eric White and Nick Jarzynka. Honorary Casket Bearers are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life service will be held Friday May 21st, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at the Park View Care Center Chapel (200 Park Lane, Buffalo).
Visitation will be held Thursday 5-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel – Buffalo (763-682-1363) also one half-hour prior to the service Friday, at Park View Care Center Chapel.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery – Minneapolis, MN.

Ruby will forever hold a special place in the heart of so many, mine in particular. Caring for Ruby was an honor and one that I will cherish for a lifetime. Serving you Gloria, Joy and family was a priviledge and something I took to heart. Thank you. Thank you for allowing us all at Park Terrace to love and care for your mom.
