Ruby Cedelia Kuhlmann, age 98, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Lake Ridge Care Center.
She was born on November 19, 1911 in Marysville Township, Wright County the daughter of Fred & Elsie Johnson Bonk.
On January 14, 1912, Ruby was baptized. On July 25, 1926, she was instructed in The Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith . Her confirmation memory verse was Revelations 2:10 “Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of Life.”
On April 3rd, 1937, Ruby C. Bonk and Richard H. Kuhlmann were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Ruby was formerly employed at Wonderall’s Garment Factory for twenty seven years. She also often took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruby enjoyed traveling with her sister Sylvia.
She was a faithful, life-long member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Ruby belonged to L.W.M.L., the sewing circle at church and was a member of The Buffalo Senior Citizens Club.
Survived by her loving children: Janet (Larry) Munstenteiger of Maple Lake, Gene (Jan) Kuhlman of Buffalo, Kay (Bill) Cruikshank of Plymouth and Robert “Bob” (Sue) Kuhlmann of Buffalo; sixteen grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren; sisters and a brother: Marion Lacina of Buffalo, Marie Hayes, Ruben (Millie) Bonk and a sister-in-law: Myrtle Bonk all of Buffalo; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: Richard H. Kuhlmann in 1966, her parents: Fred & Elsie Bonk, brothers: Willard Bonk, Ray Bonk, Ted Bonk and Ed Bonk and by a sister: Sylvia Varner.
Funeral services for Ruby Kuhlmann will be held on Sunday, December 20th at 2:00 P.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor James Disney will officiate. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20th from 12:30 P.M. until time of services at the church.
The Casket Bearers will be Anna Munstenteiger, Dawn Frost, Colleen Cruikshank, Tammy Perkins, Cathleen Effertz and Karissa Kuhlmann.
Thinking of all of you during this sad time. I will always treasure the memories I have had with Ruby, all of the Birthdays we were able to share. We will all miss her smiles and love she gave to us all. I am sure that Ruby and my grandma Sylvia are having coffee every day and playing Kings in the corners every night again!!
