Rosemary Alice Mengelkoch, age 79 of Waverly MN, passed away January 18, 2019. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 23, 1939 to Michael and Esther (Muniak) Taillefer. She graduated from Osseo High School in 1957. She was known for her warm smile and friendly personality.
On June 3, 1972, she was united in marriage to William Mengelkoch at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN. Father Reynolds was the celebrant. The two had originally met at the Dominic Club, and were happily married for 47 years.
Together Rosemary and Bill farmed in Waverly, MN for many years, eventually retiring and enjoying spending more time together. She was a devoted Catholic and the two attended Mass frequently.
Rosemary was also a part of the Red Hat Society.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Homer.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; brothers, Michael, Patrick, Francis, and Tom Taillefer; sister, Sharon (Landis) Olson and Mary Neria; and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rosemary on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Buffalo, MN. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.
