Visitation Information

Rory Scott Zitur, age 47 of rural Buffalo, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at his home.

Rory was born on June 2, 1961 in St. Paul to David and Maguerite (nee Francois) Zitur. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1979. Rory studied business at St. Cloud State University, earning a Bachelor degree in 1984. While in college, he joined the TKE Fraternity whith which he was still active. For many years he has been a partner of Zieman & Zitur Accounting in Monticello. Rory enjoyed golf, travel, and watching sports, especially hockey. In his youth he played hockey and softball. For many years he coached Buffalo Hockey. He was a long-time member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Rory Zitur is survived by: 3 children: Susannha (Mark) Wunderlin, Rochester, Anne Marie Zitur & Zachary Zitur, both of Sartell; father, David (Deb), Independence, MO; brothers: David (Cheryl), Corcoran & Randy (Sherri Brady), Rosemont; nephews: Christopher, Jonathon and Benjamin Zitur, Corcoran; nieces: Jessica & Nicole Zitur, Hugo; mother of children, Jeannie (David) Cashman, Sartell; former sister-in-law, Diane Zitur, Hugo. He was preceded in death by: mother, Marguerite; and brother, Keith.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father David Hennen will bes the Celebrant. Casket Bearers will be: Zachary Zitur, Chris Zitur, Randy Zitur, David Zitur, Ben Zitur and Jon Zitur.

An entombment will be held at 1:00 P.M. on the day of the funeral, at the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

The visitation was Friday 4-8 at the Peterson Chapel – Buffalo with a prayer service at 7 P.M.

Memorials are preferred to: Keith Zitur Memorial Fund.

    Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Rory’s entire family and friends as well as co-workers. We only saw Rory at tax time, but always enjoyed his smile and golf stories as well as his caring and kindness. He was a gentle soul who will be greatly missed. We are deeply sorry for your loss.

    My dear sweet precious Rory, I’m so sorry I was not here to say Good-by. You were always such a dear friend to me.I could never and will never forget you. I will also remember the song we both loved so much by Anrea Bocelli called “My Prayer” I only wish now i would have accepted the cd when you offered it to me, It would have meant so much to me.     My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I didn’t know Rory very well, but I lost my son a few years ago and I know how difficult this can be. I’m so sorry, all of you are in my prayers.
