Ronald Edward Denney, age 92, of Owensville, Missouri and formerly of rural Buffalo passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2013 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on April 21, 1920 in Buffalo Township the son of Walter & Lillie Hauser Denney.
On June 14, 1945, Ronald Denney and Eloise Krause were joined in marriage. God blessed their marriage with two sons.
Mr. & Mrs. Denney engaged in farming east of Buffalo in Buffalo Township for many years.
Ronald was a former faithful member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. He was a past Congregational Chairman and a longtime choir member. Ronald sang at many weddings.
He currently belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud, Missouri and formerly belonged to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Owensville, Missouri.
Ronald was an active member of The Farm Bureau holding offices in both the local and county units.
Through the years, he was a well known member of The Wright County Pork Producers and was also an original member of The Barbeque crew that served pork chops at many area activities and events. He also served on The Wright County Fair Board and on The Fair Board in Gasconade County, Missouri.
Ronald retired from farming in 1982 and he and Eloise moved to Owensville, Missouri.
While in Owensville, Ronald worked parttime for several local businesses including managing the rental property for the Fair Board for many years.
Following Eloise’s death, Ronald moved to Assisted Living and in July of 2011 he moved into a Nursing Home where he resided until the time of his death.
Survived by loving sons: Curtis (Alice) Denney of Annandale and Thomas (Gail) Denney of Chaska; grandsons: Richard Denney of Big Lake, Roger (Chanoa) Denney of Palmyra, Indiana, Christopher (Katie) Denney of Port Orchard, Washington, Timothy Denney of Big Rapids, Michigan and Patrick (Lauren) Denney of Wichita Falls, Texas; great grandchildren: Taihjeem, Segundo, Lacey, Grace and Maya Denney; a sister-in-law: Audrey Mainquist of Buffalo; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife Eloise, Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother: Loren and by a daughter-in-law: Susan Denney, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law.
Funeral services for Ronald Denney will be held on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. Pastor Stephen A. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, March 19th beginning at 12 Noon.
Casket Bearers will be Richard Denney, Randy Wassermann, Duane Zierman, Kent Mainquist, Wayne Becker and Dick Weldele.
