January 3, 1932 – April 13, 2024

Roger Jerome Robeck, age 92, of St. Michael passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 peacefully at home.  He was born in St. Michael, MN to William and Theodora (Slovik) Robeck in 1932.  He was a graduate of Buffalo High School in 1950.  Roger was a Korean War Era vet and an active member of the St. Michael American Legion for 70 years, which he currently holds the record for!  He also was a member of the Legion’s Honor Guard for 50 years, and a VFW member.

He worked at Midwestern Machinery Co. in Minneapolis for 40 years.  Roger was a lifelong member of the St. Michael Catholic Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, choir and spending time with his family.  His quiet sense of humor and humility made anyone who met him instantly like him.  When his kids asked him where he was taking Mom on their weekly Saturday night date, he’d tell them “south, in a pigs ear.”

Roger was taken care of at the end of his life by his wife and daughter Janet, who both poured everything they had into making sure he was safe and taken care of in his home. We’d also like to thank Allina Hospice for their support over the last few months.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers William, James and Robert, and sister Charlotte.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rosemary; children Gary (Laura vonBusch), Sandra (Erick) Christiansen, Janet Robeck, Ronald (Elizabeth), and Teresa (Tony) Rasmuson; his grandchildren Maxfield, Alexandra, BriOnna, Jessica, Joshua, Annie, Corina, Sarah, and Alex; and his sister Jeanne Chouinard.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 11 a.m., with further visitation 2 hours prior to Mass.  Private burial to be held at a later date.

Pudge was a good neighbor, honest and straightforward. I admired his gift with electronics.

Godfather and my Dad had a lot of the same wonderful qualities :). I’ll miss you Uncle Rog, and I hope you and your brothers up there are having one heck of a cribbage game.

Our sympathy to the Robeck families. Mike worked with Roger at Midwestern for 30 years. He was one of the best and nicest men I’ve ever known.
