Roger J. Peterson, age 74, of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his home.

He was born in Minneapolis on August 5, 1937 the son of Joseph and Ruth Peterson. On June 20, 1959 Roger Peterson was joined in holy marriage to Janice Nyman. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Roger was a very active member of Buffalo Covenant Church where he had been a member of the choir for almost 60 years. He was a self-employed contractor having owned Peterson Associates for over 40 years. During his career he was also an active Rotarian and served 2 terms on the Buffalo City Council. Roger loved the arts and architecture. He also enjoyed anything to do with life on the lake and traveling.

He is survived by his wife: Janice (Nyman) Peterson; daughters: Jill (Brad) Nauman and Beth (Russ) Hane; grandchildren: Stacey, Krista & Derek Nauman and Kelsey, Bryce & Alyssa Hane.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 28, 2011 at The Buffalo Covenant Church. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8pm at the church.

Private interment will be in Swedish Mission Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Allen Eng, Burton Nygren, Raymond Pechek, Gerald Anderson, Richard Barth, James Haglund, Bryce Hane, Derek Nauman.

    I was so sorry to hear about Roger. He was a good man and one of the pillars of the Buffalo Covenant Church when I was growing up. I’m thinking of you all and praying for you.
