RIP “grandpa” Roger…. may you ride free on all the highways in heaven! I will miss your laugh, your smile and your smart mouth! I will miss the early Saturday morning phone calls asking if I’m working and I actually was…. I will miss bingo at the legion with you… I will miss the early spring motorcycle rides when we were both still on winter lay off… most of all I’ll miss you…

R.I.P. my friend Roger. You, Bob, and I put on many miles riding together. Attending numerous fun, crazy, wild, biker events. You were always a joy to be around. Your sense of humor was contagious. You were the Best Man in our wedding and you will always be a BEST MAN in my heart!!!

When I got the news today
I didn’t know what to say.
So I just hung up the phone.

I took a walk to clear my head,
This is where the walking led
    Can’t believe you’re really gone
    Don’t feel like going home

So I’m gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
    Watch the sunset disappear
    And drink a beer

Funny how the good ones go
Too soon, but the good Lord knows
    The reasons why, I guess

    Sometimes the greater plan
    Is kinda hard to understand
Right now it don’t make sense
I can’t make it all make sense

So I’m gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
    Watch the sunset disappear
    And drink a beer

    So long my friend
    Until we meet again
    I’ll remember you
And all the times that we used to…

… sit right here on the edge of this pier
    And watch the sunset disappear
    And drink a beer
