Robert Paul Friederichsen

Age 80, of Buffalo went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2017 following a four-year battle with cancer. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Rev. Paul and Kay Friederichsen missionary parents. He spent several years as a child with his missionary parents during WW2 in the Philippines in Japanese prison camps. He graduated from Oakland, CA high school then went on to graduate from Bethel College in St. Paul with a Masters in art. He married his college sweetheart Cleo Munson of Howard Lake, MN in 1959. He went on to teach art and photography at Penn State and Augsburg College until 1994. After retirement, he and Cleo ran a dog boarding kennel in Buffalo, MN until 2006 when they moved in to Buffalo. He always put his faith in God first and was active in many church projects throughout his life. He had many talents and interests including designing houses, art, photography, fixing Volkswagens as well as fishing, hunting and especially golfing later in life.

He will be loved and missed by Cleo, his wife of 58 years; brother, Doug Friederichsen; children, Mark Friederichsen of Becker, Stephen Friederichsen (Lisa) of St. Louis Park and Karen Mammano (Sam) of Webster, NY; grandchildren, Paul, Andy, Luke and many other family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior.
