Robert “Bob” James Kasper of Rockford MN passed away January 24th, 2024, after a valiant battle against cancer. He was born April 6th, 1972, the third of four children to Catherine and Dennis. He was a very active child, growing up on the families’ dairy farm. Bob played football and hockey at STMA and graduated in 1990. He went on to Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie Wyoming, where he graduated as an Auto Technician.

Bob loved being an auto mechanic, his chosen career. He worked initially at Youngstedts in Minnetonka then at Bobby and Steve’s Auto world in Eden Prairie for many years. He was well liked by his coworkers and customers.

Bob will forever be remembered for his giant bear hugs, where he would pick his loved ones up off their feet. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He spent a lot of time at the family’s cabin on Mille Lacs Lake. He was also a lifelong NASCAR fan, something he shared with his dad.

Bob married Becky, the love of his life and his partner of 19 years in February 2023. Their many years together of their shared love and support for each other, their shared love of their pets, and their deep love of family.

Becky was steadfast in her support of Bob during his illness, with help from his extended family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky”; daughter MacKenzie; mother: Catherine; siblings: Cheri (Troy), Sandi (Scott), Chad; nieces and nephews: Cody, Kalli, Travis, Amanda, and JD; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I apologize for any confusion regarding the “funeral” today. As the plans were made without consideration of whether or not I was able to attend (and give Bob a ride there… IYKYK), I had requested that the people who needed it to be today keep it private. Unfortunately, they chose not to.

Bob’s actual funeral and celebration of his life will be held at a date yet to be determined. I will notify EVERYONE as soon as the date has been chosen.

I believe that everyone here is better off having met you. Yes you were a tough guy, but you also had a big heart.
