Robert (Bob) Charles Booth, age 82 of Buffalo, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Park Terrace in Buffalo.

Bob was born on July 26, 1927 in Bowlus, MN the son of Henry and Natalia (Burggraff) Booth.

He grew up in Bowlus and graduated from Royalton High School. After graduation, Bob joined the U.S. Navy and honorably served in World War II.

Bob attended Railroad Trade School in Minneapolis after which he was employed by the Soo Line Railroad as a Traveling Depot Agent. Bob was a lifelong Soo Line Railroad employee, retiring in the autumn of 1987.

Bob married his High School sweetheart, Delores Waletski in Bowlus, MN on April 20, 1949. God blessed their marriage with five children. While he lived in Bowlus, Bob was active on the local school board, served as a volunteer firefighter, and was a founder and charter member of The American Legion Post. He served as the Post Commander in 1962. Bob enjoyed league bowling in Bowlus and later in Watkins. Bob and the Booth family moved to Watkins in 1964 after the close of The Bowlus Depot. While living in Watkins, Bob served as City Treasurer and was active in the local American Legion. In 1975, Bob and the Booth family moved to Buffalo. In Buffalo, he was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus.

Bob enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and many good times at Bass Lake. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Bob is survived by children: Richard (Marie) Booth of Rochester, Jean (Ron) Miller of Howard Lake, Gary (Cindy) Booth and Bev Lang all of Buffalo; grandchildren: Kelly (Chris) Tedrick, Ryan Booth, Jeff (Mary) Miller, Steve (Lorie) Miller, Michelle (Cullen) Czech, Jackie Booth and Travis & Justin Lang; Great grandchildren: Olivia, Nora, Morgan and Grant; step great grandchildren: Cayla, Colton, Kyle; sisters: Betty (Fritz) Wettstein of Aitkin, Marlene (Dave) Richtsmeier of Lakeville and Ione Booth of Little Falls; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife: Delores M. Booth, parents Henry and Natalia; a son Tom; a son-in-law Dan; brothers Jim and Albert and by an infant brother Roman.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert “Bob” Booth will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion, Post # 270.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 28th at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Further visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday morning, December 29th.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Katie, Jill and all Park Terrace nurses and caregivers, and also to Hospice.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo is serving the family.
