Robert A. Swanson, age 80 and formerly of Buffalo passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born on July 19, 1932 in Starbuck, Minnesota the son of Harold & Minnie Sodergren Swanson.
Bob honorably served his Country in The United States Army in Korea from 1952-1953.
On February 11, 1956, Robert A. Swanson and Delilah M. Rentz were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo by Pastor Berwald. God blessed their marriage with three children.
He was formerly employed as a Tool & Dye Maker for Precise Products and UMC.
Bob was a member of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford.
He enjoyed his work shop and when he made something it “lasted forever”.
Survived by three children: Vicki Swanson of Delano, David Swanson of Waverly & special friend Dawn Johnson and Robin (Joe) Menard of Howard Lake; grandchildren: Christina (Shrial) Baksh, Matthew (Jillayne) Menard, Jeremy Swanson, Joshua Menard & special friend Galina Kaul; great grandchildren: Morgan & Megan Hesse, Jaiden Baksh, Connor & Caylee Menard, Mason & Hunter Swanson; a brother: Rod (Carol) Swanson; sisters: Carol (Don) Johnson and Shirley (Bill) Mechels; a sister-in-law: Shirley Scott; Special niece: Jackie Swanson; nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat “Squeaks”.
Preceded in death by his wife: Delilah M. Swanson on January 10, 2012 and by his parents: Harold & Minnie Swanson.
Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Swanson will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 1:00 P.M. at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. Pastor Michael Barlow will officiate.
Interment with military rites will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Church from 11:00 A.M. until time of services.
Casket Bearers will be Joshua Menard, Matthew Menard, Jeremy Swanson, Christina Baksh, Shrial Baksh and Michael Daniels.

Sorry I can’t be there to give you hugs, but you’re in my heart ! May all your warm memories give you some comfort… mom & dad are both watching over you guys … bet they’re having fun!!! Having been neighbors as our kids were growing up, we have many nice memories of sharing times and laughs. Faith tells me it is not “Goodbye,” but, “See you later.”
