Visitation Information

Richard Roy Bahn, age 64, of Loretto, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Richard was born in Minot, North Dakota on July 21st, 1946 the son of Roy and Edna (Thorenson) Bahn. He lived in Newburg, North Dakota, and graduated from NDSU in 1968 before moving to Minnesota.

Richard honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Richard was a Mechanical Engineer having worked for Honeywell for 30 years before becoming a partner and forming TRS Systems. He loved sports, as a player, coach and spectator. He coached Little League, hockey, girls softball and girls basketball for many years. He also enjoyed golfing and played on the Honeywell league. He was a woodworker, enjoyed cooking, baking bread and camping. He recently became interested in quilting. He loved his family and his grandchildren were his #1 joy.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of forty years: Mary (Brabbit) Bahn; Children: Krissy (Craig) Nelson, Ben Bahn and Kelly (Ben) Hinnenkamp; Grandchildren: Jacob, Brett, Drew, Grant, Emily and Evan; Aunt Genevieve Thorenson and Uncle Joe (Peggy) Bahn. He is also survived by many cousins and friends who will dearly miss him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna (Thorenson) Bahn.

A memorial service will be held 5:00pm on Sunday, January 30th at the Community United Methodist Church, 9225 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello, Minnesota.

A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 3:00pm until the time of service.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 31st at 11:00am at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley in Little Falls, Minnesota.
