Richard L. Varner, age 71, of Albany passed away on Friday, May 16th, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
He was born on June 23, 1942 to Howard & Fern (Ferrell) Varner. Richard grew up on the family farm north of Buffalo.
On February 16th, 1963, Richard Varner married Bonnie Allen in Minneapolis. They lived on the family farm until 2004 when they moved to a farm they purchased in Albany.
Besides farming Richard worked for a cabinet shop and at Wright Lumber & Millwork.
Survived by his loving wife: Bonnie; sons: Brian (Nancy) Varner and Andy Varner; grandchildren: Josh and Nikki Varner; a brother Dennis Varner; faithful dog Daisy; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son: Jeffery in 1968 and a son: Bradley in 1988 and by a brother: Ronnie Varner in 1991.
Funeral services for Richard Varner will be held on Monday, May 19th at 2:00 P.M. at The United Methodist Church in Buffalo. Pastor Jef Olson will officiate. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 19th beginning at 12 Noon until time of services at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Rick Varner, Scott Driver, Cody Ritter, Josh Varner, Nick Solorz and Scott Heinecke.

I’m so sad to hear of Richard’s passing. He’s now with the Lord in heaven and my thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of need.
