May 23, 1964 – May 15, 2024

Richard George Wren, 59, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on May 15, 2024. Born May 23, 1964 to George and JoAnn Wren in Watertown, MN.

Rick was an accomplished painter and woodworker with a career spanning over 30 years. He founded and owned Wright Painting, a Rockford, MN based small business. When Rick was not running his business, he avidly pursued his love for the outdoors and spent time with his family. He was an accomplished outdoorsman that musket, bow, and gun hunted deer, duck, and other game with his children and brothers. He frequented Lake Sarah and Lake Pulaski to fish and spend time on the water with family and friends.

When the weather was not right for exploring the outdoors, he bonded with his family over movies. Rick loved to cook and never let a successful day of hunting or fishing go to waste. He enjoyed sharing his homemade summer sausage, jerky, and smoked meats with those around him. Rick loved seafood and accomplished his dream of taking his camper to Alabama to catch crab, fish on the ocean, and enjoy time with his dog, Madison.

Rick is survived by his beloved children, Megan (Nicholas) and Jacob; mother of his children, Shelley; siblings, Michael, Shawn, Kort, Zara (Robert); many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and JoAnn; and a sister, Taria.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday June 22, 2024 at Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN at 11:00 AM. Attendees are welcome to visit with the family in the two hours prior to services, beginning at 9:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
