Richard was born March 2nd, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Howard Jahnke and Winifred Jahnke (St. Peter) was called home by our heavenly father on Tuesday June 28, 2016.
Richard had a few underlying, progressing illnesses: Parkinson’s Disease, Louie Body Dementia, and Lung Cancer (Mesothelioma) in which we were given 4-6 months. The prognosis was short lived; two weeks and one day
Richard was a huge packer fan, enjoyed talking to people even if he didn’t know you. He was a kind generous and caring husband, father, and grandfather who made time for his family even at his hardest times of struggling with his illnesses. He had nicknames of “dick” “packer” and “mayor” as he waved and talked to everybody in Rockford, MN and many other places he was familiar with.
Richard enjoyed listening to his music (oldies), watching the western shows, going to his kids and grandkids sporting events, cookouts with the family, parades, watching HGTV, his favorite movie Dirty Dancing, going on family trips and just being with his family.
Richard is survived by: His wife Cynthia (nee Henry) Jahnke, 48 years together and married for 44 years. Their three children: Richard Jahnke, Amy (Brent) Hauge and Carey Jahnke.
Five grandchildren: Carissa(Kenneth) Aalderks, Madeline and Maycee Jahnke, Natalia and John-Carlos Jahnke
Two great grand-children: Karliee and Brock Aalderks
Sister-In-laws: Sheree Becker and Nancy Henry, along with other nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by: His parents Howard and Winifred Jahnke, Grandmother-in-law Pearl Sitte, Mother in law Laverne Guzman (Sitte) Brother in laws: John Becker and Robert Henry along with many other friends and family that Richard was close too.
Richard’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 visitation will be from 2pm-5pm with the service following at The Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Ave Buffalo, MN 55313
