Reynard Allen Johnson, aged 78, of Montrose Minnesota, passed away February 8th 2021.
He was born on June 26, 1942 on the family farm outside of Eagle Bend, Minnesota to Johan “J. Herbert” Johnson and Eldora (Peterson) Johnson.
Shortly after graduating from high school in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served for four years. He was honorably discharged from his military duties on June 5, 1964.
Reynard furthered his education by taking college courses for computer science. He worked as a computer analysis with various companies like Toyota and Honeywell, finally retiring from working at the Hennepin County Government Center in 2008.
Reynard was an honorable and devoted family man. He was joined in marriage to Rosemarie Mateo Liugan on September 14, 1994 in the Philippines and together they happily resided in Montrose with their girls. He always made sure to provide for his wife and girls and give them the best life possible. He had a genuine, caring, sincere, and goofy personality with a big heart.
Reynard was quiet and liked to spend his time alone listening to his country classics like Waylon Jennings, his favorite mariachi bands, or getting in contact with his close friends and family through emailing. He was active in Ducks Unlimited and going to train exhibits when able, or else would watch them on TV. He built model airplanes and loved to collect them and model trains as well. He was a true die-hard Vikings fan no matter how well their winning record was. He was a loyal fan through all the good and bad! He loved spending hours fishing on the local lakes with an ice-cold Coors, one of his favorite beers, otherwise he was drinking a tall bottle of Dos Equis with some good spicy Mexican food.
He is preceded in death by his parents J. Herbert and Eldora; and brother-in-law Mike Teigland.
Reynard is survived by his wife Rosemarie; children Monique “Buddy” (Greg) Wolfe, Jeremiah “Jeremy” Savage, Jowenah “Babah” (Luis) Orozco, Carlita “Tatah” Johnson, Bethany “Geebi” Johnson, Reynah “Nanah” Johnson; grandchildren Gabriel “Gabe” Telles, Raquel “little Raquelita” (John) Bowles, Evangeline “chinita” Orozco; great-grandchildren, Aeris, Ambrosio, Jovahnii, Gavin, Jeremiah, Maggie and Evelyn; great-great-grandchild Laylanii; siblings, John “Howard” (Marie) Johnson, Jo Ann “Jan” (Merv) Stork, Beverly “Bev” Teigland, Linden “Lindy” Johnson, Lennert “Butch” (Colleen) Johnson; special pet companion, Asia “Pooch”; and many other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Howard Johnson, Lindy Johnson, Butch Johnson, Jan Stork, and Bev Teigland.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Additional visitation will be held the following day, Saturday, February 20, at 10:00 AM at The Peterson Chapel.
Funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo. Military honors will take place after the service. Interment will take place at a later date at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Eagle Bend, MN.

Rey’s life was far too short, I’ll always remember him.
I know words can’t take away the hurt that his family is feeling so don’t let go of the wonderful memories that was shared together.

Uncle Rey was a devoted(loved), down right diehard fan of the Minnesota Vikings, a proud Veteran (Air Force), and really liked to drink beer for as long as I can remember. He was a family man who loved to keep up with us all, I could always count on a Christmas card that he would write every year, he was just that kind of guy.

Thinking of my Uncle Rey as he was laid to rest today…
He was definitely a BIG supporter of my brother Brad and I for going in the Air Force too.🇺🇸🙏🏽♥️🤍💙. He was always happy to meet us in the airport on a layover just to catch up and have a drink.
I always remember his love for his family and the MN Vikings.
