Reps Gene Hall, age 37, of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away August 24, 2020.

He was born on November 30, 1982 in Lone Star, Texas to Jeffery Gene Hall and Neda Chearl (Sharber) Dickerson. He grew up in Avinger, Texas and attended Jefferson High School, where he graduated with the class of 2001. Reps honorably received his Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America and was also a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was recognized as a Scout that best exemplified the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life. He took great pride in carrying on the values and traditions learned from being in Boy Scouts.

Following high school, he briefly attended Northeast Texas Community College. He went on to work at Lone Star Steel.  Then, he decided to follow in his father’s footstep in becoming a certified welder.

On June 9, 2004, he was joined in marriage to Jessica Ann Miller in Lake O’ the Pines, Texas. Following the birth of their second child, they made their way to Buffalo, Minnesota to raise their family.  Reps found work with the Iron Workers Union Local 512 and was also a welding instructor for Iron Worker apprentices. Reps was a certified welding inspector.  He was an incredibly hard worker and made many lasting friendships in the Union because of his great sense of humor.

Reps was a devoted husband and father; his family meant the world to him and he made sure to provide as much love and support as he could for them. He attended many of their sporting events, watched wrestling videos on YouTube to give his son’s wrestling tips on how to be better at the sport.  He helped Joanna master the “McTwist” at her gymnastics meets.  He would test out his cooking abilities with unique recipes to provide home-cooked meals. He loved being able to mentor his children.

Even though he was from sunny Texas, he loved the cold Minnesota winters and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed ice fishing, duck hunting, and taking care of horses and cattle. Like any Texan, he also enjoyed cheering on his beloved Cowboys and Long Horn teams during the football season.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffery; grandparents, Coleman Gene Hall, Earl Sharber, and Opal Wynell (Rhyne) Sharber; and beloved great-aunt, Marg Harris.

Reps is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jessica; children, Riley Gene (15), Joanna Leone (14), and Marshall Miller (10); mother, Chearl (Steve) Dickerson; sisters, Kera (Chris) Williams, Kelly (Billy) Childress, and Kaitlin Gokey; step-sisters, Sarah (Ryan) Pursley and Laura Dickerson; grandmother, Wanda “MawMaw” Hall; uncles, Don (Pam) Hall and Van (Donna) Hall; mother-in-law, Leone Anderson; brother-in-law, Marvin (Anna) Miller; nephews Dustin, Blain, Ethan, Reid, Adin, Tegan and nieces Trinity, Kylei, Remi, Oaklee, Macee; step-mother, Teonna; and many other cousins, relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11:00 AM -3:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. An inurnment will be held at a later date in the family cemetery where he will be interred with his father and grandfather in Avinger, Texas.

Reps was a beloved friend, mentor, Instructor and brother Ironworker. He made everyone around him better, whether that was in day to day life, on the job or in the shop at the training center. He was one of the single best people that a person could meet, and we are all truly grateful for him being in our lives. He was one of a kind and will always be remembered because of it. RIP Brother.
