Raymond Arthur Hofstad, age 67, of Buffalo passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at The St. Cloud Hospital.

He was born on January 14, 1943 in Oklee, Minnesota the son of Osmund & Marie Johnson Hofstad.

Raymond Honorably served his Country in The United States Marine Corps.

On May 7, 1994, Raymond A. Hofstad & Jayne F. Steinhaus were joined in holy marriage at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Maple Lake.

Ray was formerly employed as a lineman for Wright Hennepin Electric Cooperative for thirty two years.

Raymond was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Enfield. He also belonged to The Maple Lake American Legion Post.

Survived by loving wife: Jayne F. Hofstad; children: Steve Hofstad and Ruth (Chad) Stoppelman; eighteen grandchildren; three step children: Mona (Dan Roller) Steinhaus, Troy Steinhaus and Tina (Mark) Johnson; two brothers: Orlando and Leslie; three sisters: Lois, Elaine and Carol; brothers in law and a sister-in-law: Howard Chester, Dennis “Doc” Chester, Larry Chester, Wayne Chester, Ronald Chester and Lorraine Ryks; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his first wife: Karen, his parents: Osmund & Marie Hofstad, brothers: Stanley and Paul Hofstad, brothers-in-law: Vernon Chester and Merlin “Bud” Chester.

A Memorial service for Raymond Hofstad was held on Tuesday, October 12th at 5:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Enfield (rural Monticello). Pastor Jim Tetlie officiated.

A time of gathering was held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday, October 12th.

Arrangements for Raymond Hofstad are by The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

    Dear Hofstad Family,
    You have our deepest sympathy on the death of Ray. He was such a friendly and happy guy, and one of my favorite Wright-Hennepin co-workers. He was always willing to help, and never complained or spoke negative of anyone.

    Ray Hofstad will be missed by everyone that knew him and loved him. He was one of the nicest uncle’s and friend’s you could ever hope to have to be part of your life, as a child and as an adult. Ruthie and Steve I hope nothing but the best for you in the days to come. Hope everything works out for you. We will keep you in our prayers.
