Ray J. Hayes, age 86 of rural Buffalo, MN passed away Wednesday morning, May 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church, Buffalo, MN. Visitation from 4-8 PM Monday at The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo & one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Buffalo, MN.
Ray was born on June 28, 1926 in Maple Lake Township, Wright County, Minnesota to Paul & Mary (Marquette) Hayes. He was employed at Twin City Monorail, retiring after 22 years. On June 9, 1956 he married Rosealice Scott at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale, MN. Ray’s favorite past times were gardening, yard work, playing at pool tournaments, playing cards at the community center & playing his weekly card game with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Earl, infant brother, Edwin & twin brother, Roy.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rosealice of Buffalo, MN; children, Alice (Steve) Welter of Almena, WI. Paul Hayes of Buffalo, MN, Mary (Dave) Odden of Buffalo, MN., Jane (Fred Knowles) Maurer of South Haven, MN., Linda (Bob) Faue of Buffalo, MN, Scott (Trish Muller) Hayes of Maple Lake, MN; 18 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.
