Randolph Oscar “Randy” Erickson, age 54, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, August 28th, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on July 9, 1963 in Aurora, Colorado the son of Dale E. & Darlene A. (Nickell) Erickson.
Randy graduated from Buffalo High School in 1982. He later received a Law Enforcement Degree.
He was employed for thirty three years as a Wright County Deputy Sheriff. Randy also formerly worked as a police officer in both Buffalo and Howard Lake. He currently was employed at Menard’s in Buffalo.
Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting sports memorabilia, his dogs and taking care of his lawn.
Survived by his mother: Darlene A. Erickson of Buffalo; a brother: Gary (Sandi) Erickson of Crosby; sisters: Cindy (Ervin) Karasch of Sauk Centre and Judy (Larry) Ahlm of Buffalo; loving companion: Jill Buranen of Buffalo; six nephews and nieces and seven great nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his father Dale E. Erickson on December 31, 1998.

The world was a better place with Randy in it. We all will miss his humor, compassion and his presence in our lives.

Going to miss you Randy. After many years of working at the Wright County it was so good to see you at Menard’s with a smile on your face. Sorry for your loss. Heaven has another angel for those in need.
Judy and the rest of the family; You have my sincere sympathy. I worked with you and Randy at Wright County and found him to always friendly and helpful, as you were. You are in my prayers.
What a loss, the Erickson family, I worked with Grandfather Oscar, father Dale and now Randy, all great men, God has gained true Gentleman in heaven. God be with the Erickson Family.
Randy; You will be missed. We worked together in the Hardware Dept. Randy was more calm than quiet, he had a good sense of humor and made jokes often. He had a strong sense of justice, I think.
At one time he overheard anther employee talking rather disrespectfully to me on the floor. The next day he said that he was still mad about that incident. I said I was too. He said that he had actually lost sleep over it. I said I did too. He asked if it was okay with me if he talked to the manager about it.
We have lost a good man. A very good man and my friend. I am so sorry. My sincerest sympathy to his family.

I’m going to miss seeing you at Menards…a lot of people will. Enjoy the rewards of the multitude of prayers being sent your way by your loving family and friends. God knows we loved you and always will.
Dear Erickson family; I loved working with Randy all those years at the sheriff’s office. He was loyal, all the way around, very smart, meticulous, and had both a strong sense of justice a great sense of humor. I’ll continue to pray for your family, that you feel surrounded by God’s comfort and peace in your grief. Hold on to all the wonderful memories of dear Randy.
Randy was always good to us! He would always plow our driveway in the winter before we had a snow plow. Sorry to hear of this news.
