Phyllis Ann Glunz, age 83, of Buffalo passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids after complications from a heart attack.

Phyllis was born on August 18, 1928 in Maple Lake, MN the daughter of Louis and Ethel (Provo) Opat. She graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1946.

On November 4, 1950, she was joined in holy marriage at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake, MN to Raymond John (Jack) Glunz with Father Morgan performing the ceremony. God blessed their marriage with five children.
As a young woman, she held various positions at Wonderalls, the Kings House, Moulded Products and her proud and loving passion at the United States Postal Service in Buffalo for 22 years, from 1970 to 1992. She also owned and operated Glunz Construction with her husband. She enjoyed country music, bingo, garage sales, crossword puzzles, collecting snow globes and was a frequent winner of KRWC’s time capsule.

Phyllis is survived by her five children: Amy (Mike) Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, MN, Gary Glunz of Plymouth, MN, Dale (Betty) Glunz of Maple Lake, MN, Linda Glunz of Plymouth, MN and Dean Glunz (special friend Diane) of Buffalo, MN and her cat, “Pumpkin”. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Jarod) Brustuen of Palmdale, CA, David (Kimberly) Glunz of Annandale, MN, Ben (Jessica) Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, MN, Nicole (Russell) Green of Annandale, MN , Scott (Penny) Elsenpeter of Monticello, MN, Angela Glunz (special friend Clint) of Carbondale, IL and Mitchel Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, MN, great-grandchildren: Gracie Elsenpeter, Rebecca Green, Jenaveve Glunz, Bryn Elsenpeter, Kelsey Brustuen, Nathan Green, Easton Glunz, Joshua Brustuen, Colton Glunz, Caden Green and Reed Elsenpeter, sisters: Marylou (Baert) Dankowski, Kathryn Baert and Joan Baert-Demarais, sister-in-law: Sandi Baert, brothers: Alfred Baert and Alan Baert.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Jack), her parents, Ethel and Frank Baert and Louis Opat and her brother Dennis Baert.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Ann Glunz will be held on Friday, August 17th at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. Private interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16 from 4-8 PM at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Further visitation will be held on Friday, August 17th at the church one hour prior to mass.

Pallbearers will be Phyllis’ seven grandchildren: Jennifer Elsenpeter (Brustuen), David Glunz, Benjamin Elsenpeter, Scott Elsenpeter, Nicole Glunz (Green), Angela Glunz and Mitchel Elsenpeter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Phyllis’ great-grandchildren: Gracie Elsenpeter, Rebecca Green, Jenaveve Glunz, Bryn Elsenpeter, Kelsey Brustuen, Nathan Green, Joshua Brustuen, Easton Glunz, Colton Glunz, Caden Green, and Reed Elsenpeter.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
