Phillip Gaas, age 62, of Buffalo. Born January 12, 1953, passed away October 23, 2015 at REM Home in Buffalo.

Phil was a fun loving guy with a kind soul who had an infectious smile that he never hesitated to show off. He brought light into every room he wheeled in to. Phil would often sneak into a room to turn off the lights to get a laugh out of everyone; and no matter the season, a water fight may break out. He made the people around him love monkeys and converted others to “professional wrestling” fans with a soft spot for John Cena. People knew Phil was looking out for them when he offered a friendly pat on the back, a high-five, or a “poor baby”. For a man with few words, Phil spoke volumes and forever has left a mark on all those he knew, including his REM “family” and all of his friends.

A time of gathering for Phillip Gaas will be held Monday, November 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at The Peterson Funeral Chapel in Buffalo.

How sad it is to know that you are no longer with us Phil. It was truly an honor to know such a sweet, innocent spirit such that you were. I believe that you are now with Jesus and not just walking but leaping with joy! Bless you my sweet friend.
